Hey, Josh here. This was awesome and thought I would share it. We also built out a guide so you can do it too

Here’s the final blog post version, optimized for engagement, with hooks, conversational flow, and practical steps:
How I Used ChatGPT to Completely Rebuild My Life (And How You Can Too)
Ever wish you had a personal coach, therapist, and strategist all rolled into one… who works 24/7 and doesn’t charge a dime?
Yeah. That’s what ChatGPT can be—if you use it right.
I’m not talking about “write me an essay” level stuff. I’m talking about using it to quit addictions, recover thousands from scams, land your dream job, and get in the best shape of your life.
Sounds dramatic? Good. Because I’m about to show you exactly how to make it happen.
Step 1: Stop Treating ChatGPT Like Google
This is where most people screw up. They type vague stuff like:
“Best way to lose weight?”
…and then complain the answer is generic.
Here’s the fix: Talk to it like a real person. Share your context, failures, triggers, and goals. The more details you give, the smarter the response.
Example Prompt:
“I’ve tried quitting weed three times and failed. I want a step-by-step plan that works for someone with zero self-control. Include what I should do when cravings hit.”
See the difference? That’s not a search. That’s a conversation.
Step 2: Tackle the One Thing Ruining Everything Else
There’s always one. For the Reddit guy, it was weed. For you? Maybe it’s debt, drinking, or binge-eating.
Tell ChatGPT:
What the problem is
Why you’ve failed before
What you want to achieve
Then ask for:
A daily plan
Emergency scripts for when you’re about to relapse
Triggers to avoid
And then check in every single day.
Example:
“Update: I slipped yesterday. Here’s what happened. Help me tweak the plan so it doesn’t happen again.”
This is like hiring a coach who never sleeps.
Step 3: Make ChatGPT Your Accountability Buddy
This hack alone is worth it.
Set this rule:
“Every night, I’ll check in. If I miss a day, roast me hard.”
Weirdly, the thought of getting roasted by an AI is enough to keep you on track.
Step 4: Use It to Build Your Next Chapter
Once the chaos is under control, use ChatGPT for leveling up:
Career: Ask it what jobs fit your skills, then have it write resumes and prep you for interviews.
Money: Get budgeting templates, dispute charges, or brainstorm side hustles.
Fitness: Build custom workout and meal plans (even if you’ve never touched a gym).
Example Prompt:
“I need a 12-week workout plan to get in shape for police academy testing. Start with bodyweight, then ramp it up. Include a grocery list.”
That’s exactly what the Reddit guy did. Now he’s licensed as a PI and training for law enforcement.
Step 5: Hack Your Head (This One’s Wild)
He even used ChatGPT to process emotions and interpret dreams—basically free therapy.
Try this:
“I feel like a failure after losing $2,000 in a scam. Help me reframe this so I stop obsessing and move forward.”
It’ll talk you down, reframe your thoughts, and give you practical steps.
Why This Works
Zero judgment
Immediate feedback
Unlimited patience
That combo? It’s lethal for personal growth.
Your Move
You can keep scrolling Reddit, or you can open ChatGPT and type:
“Here’s where I’m at. Here’s what I want. Tell me the first three things I should do today.”
Do that, and you just started your reset.
